Project Description
To paraphrase Gertrude Stein, a shower is a shower is a shower. Showers are quick, efficient-puritanical even. They deliver cleanliness, which we all know is second only to godliness in the pantheon of American virtues. But baths now that’s a whole other story. Baths are luxurious, decadent, and, dare I say it, sexy. A soak in the tub conjures visions of indulgent, lazy afternoons with loads of time, a good book, and heated floors. It’s a slow retreat into a private space where reverie and relaxation allow your mind to drift in directions you never imagined.
From the delicious privacy of my Tiffany blue bathroom in Brooklyn, I recently exiled myself to the bath. Or, as I took to calling it: research.
Next was Red Flower’s Organic Birch Mineral Hydrotherapy Soaking Plunge. It makes less extravagant promises, but after sinking into its oceanic embrace, I slipped into a deep sleep at the laughable hour of 9:30.
